Part-Time Tour Guide

Position Summary:
Breckenridge Heritage Alliance tour guides lead guests through museums and on guided tours. The ideal candidate should have an interest in sharing Breckenridge’s history, be able to speak in front of large and small groups, have a flexible schedule, provide excellent customer service and be dependable. This position is currently set at 12 to 20 hours per week for the winter months (starting in December). At this time, we are looking for an individual to lead the Breckenridge Walking Tour and work in the Summit Ski Museum. This person may have the opportunity to lead additional museum and guided tours for the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance depending on need, interest and availability. We are looking for an individual who will to commit to working year round (not just for the winter season).
Qualifications:
Previous experience working directly with the public is necessary. Previous museum, guide, theatre, or public speaking experience is preferred. An interest in history and storytelling is highly recommended.
Training:
Guides receive multiple resources to develop personalized and themed tours. Tour guides are expected to attend periodic staff meetings and trainings.
Supervision:
Tour guides report directly to the Operations Manager and the Executive Director.
